Charlie HAD a bike.

Daddy has wanted to get Charlie a bike since last summer,  Charlie doesn't want a bike.  But Daddy took him to Walmart and got him a bike anyway. When we arrived home with the bike Charlie rode it around the driveway once and was done. It didn't help that he hadn't napped and was crabby.  We also realized that the bike is too small for Charlie so we took it back.  Maybe one day soon Charlie will want a bike and find one that he likes!

Coffee Ground "Fossils"

These sound a little gross but Charlie had a great time making these used coffee ground "fossils". Thanks to the Kaboose website (http://crafts.kaboose.com/fossil.html) for this project! I would suggest baking them since we made these on Thursday and they still are not dry.

What you'll need:
  • 1 cup of used coffee grounds
  • 1/2 cup of cold coffee
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup of salt
  • Wax paper
  • Mixing bowl
  • Some small objects to make impressions in the dough (Shaped cookie cutters work well.)
  • Empty can or a butter knife
  • Toothpicks, optional
  • String to hang your fossil, optional

How to make it:

  1. Stir the together the coffee grounds, cold coffee, flour, and salt until well mixed.
  2. Knead the dough together and then flatten it out onto the waxed paper.
  3. Use the can to cut out circles of the dough or use the dull knife to cut slabs large enough to fit your "fossil" objects.
  4. Press your objects firmly into the dough. When you take the object out, you have your "fossil". If you want to hang the fossil, poke holes into the edge to hold the string.
  5. Let the fossil dry overnight (and up to two days) and then hang it if you wish.

Tips:

  1. To reduce the drying time, bake the fosils for a short period of time to get the "dough" to harden.

Slush Splashing

Well last night when I let the dogs out it was snowing a little but I never thought it would amount to anything. Surprisingly it snowed about 2 inches last night. And it snowed much of the day but it didn't really add up to anything.

Scary Face

This is what Charlie calls his scary face...

Sleepy Boy

Last night Charlie stayed up a little late with Moppy (just 10 PM, he has been known to stay up till like 3 AM with Daddy), well this morning he woke me at 5 AM. When I came out into the living-room I noticed a few things that told me he must have been up for a while already, there were several books on the couch, the Lego men where all out and there is a craft stick and glue art project on the dinning room table.
Well we have company coming over for dinner, I am planning on putting Charlie down for a nap at noon since he was up so early. So around 10:30 AM I decided we better run to the store and grab a couple of things I need for dinner. I noticed Charlie was kinda quite and spacey in the store. I ask him is he sleepy and get the normal I'm not sleepy in that whiny almost cry that tells me he is VERY sleepy! So i tell myself ok lets hurry up get what we need and get out of here and 10 seconds later I look at Charlie and he is sound a sleep, in this crazy I can't believed it position!!
