Oklahoma State Parks

While visiting the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial we talked to a park Ranger and  she told us about two State parks that were worth the drive to. The First was Roman Nose.... well let me just say we drove over a hour to go to a golf course, yes you read, that right we drove all the way there to find out that the park was mainly a golf course. They had some camping areas and a lodge with cabins you can rent in season. So now ask yourself would you drive to the second suggested park??  We did and that was Red Rocks Canyon  State park, which was very much worth the drive!! The first trail we hiked was the California Road Nature Trail it was a beautiful trail and Sadly I for get the name of the second which was interesting because you started out in a swampy area with very tall horse tail pants and then came to a more lush rocky forest with the beautiful Red rocks and dirt. Now I am not sure how long the trail was but we hiked it for a while and then came to where the path was flooded and we had to turn back and when we were almost back to the swampy horse tail area you could see the flooded area, we were a little sick of hiking at that point. Oh wait I almost forgot the best part of this trail, we saw a real, live, fast moving Armadillo!! Funny thing is right before we arrived at this park I was telling Chaz that I  hoped one day to get to see a live Armadillo in the wild some day and then it happed!!
