But tonight at the show he loved it!! (Oh and so did Moppy!!!) As stated on Facebook "Ringling Brothers got nothing on Phineas and Ferb Live, that was the greatest show on earth!!!"

How better to celebrate Daddy's Birthday and Moppy and Daddy's Anniversary then a trip to the waterpark!! So off to Osage beach and the Tan Tar A resort to enjoy a day at Timber Falls water park. We had so much fun and Charlie loved the big water slide that you ride an inter-tube down we rode it at least 50 times!! Which meant climbing three flights of stairs for each ride! But he wouldn't try the other one.

Dardenne Prairie Community Park

Since it was another Indian Summer day we left a couple hours early for swim lessons and stopped by the park on the way. Dardenne Prairie has a new park that I had heard about from friends. Charlie's friend Sophia Mommy had said they would be going today too, We also Ran into his friend Aidan who we haven't seen in a very very long time! So it turned into a nice little play date! The kids had a great time and I know this mommy enjoyed seeing some friends!

So today was a very spring like day!! 65 sunny and just beautiful! So after school we headed to the Zoo. It also happens to Be Katie short day at school and she seen that we were going so she texted me just before I left Troy to say she was out of school and would like to go too. So we ran by and picked up Katie and her friend Becca. Also Charlie's friend Sophia, her Mommy Debbie and little sister Kaylee also took advantage of the beautiful day and head to the Zoo so met up with them and spend a little time hanging out with them, but we really need to see them again soon for a play date! Oh and no visit to the Zoo in Charlie's eye is complete without stopping by the turtle park!

Friday we join the Donald's to celebrate Jacob turning 11. I was a little surprised when Kim invited us to his birthday dinner at Hooter's, but I know they all love the food there. I don't think I have ever been to a Hooter's (Chaz said I was in FL once before we went on a geek cruise) the food was good and the Ladies working there were very nice.

Donating my hair

I think the last time I had all my hair cut off was in third grade, but this Monday I was taking Charlie for a hair cut and it hit me I wanted to cut my hair and donate it to Locks of Love. First I told Chaz and he suggested I think about it for a few days, which is always a good plan when you are thinking of making a huge change like that. I could tell he wanted to say don't do it and he started to say something but then didn't finish. Then I posted it on Facebook to see what other's thought and not a single person said don't do it. So I thought about it the last few days and this morning I went and got it cut!

I like it, think it looks cute. It was strange when I washed it Chaz said it looks good. My Mom said it makes me look younger which Chaz agreed with her. Charlie just said it grows everyday.

Snow Day

This morning at 5:20 AM the school called to say it was a snow day and we would make the day up on Monday. (So I have been up since then) We didn't get much snow and after growing up in MI and living in MN it is laughable that they actually called a snow day for this little bit of snow!! Charlie was so excited when he stumbled into the living room around 7, eyes still not open more then a slit and I told him it was a snow day, school is closed ! He ran to the window to see the snow and then to wake up Daddy and tell him we had lots of snow "at least hundred pounds". Charlie and I went out in the back yard and played a little bit. He tried out his snowboard Santa brought him. Then at lunch time Daddy took us to the Quail Ridge Park to go sledding, it was too cold (18 with 20-30 mph winds) to spend much time out. Daddy then took us to a nice lunch at the Olive Garden and then home we came where Charlie begged to play out some more. We let him go and told him he could play for 20 mins. He was out almost the full 20 minutes when I heard him coming up the deck stairs. He couldn't get the door open with his gloves on and started yelling "help mommy help me". Something tells me we will go out once again today before it gets dark but we will see. We are suppose to go to swim lesson tonight but the roads still are not the best and as the sun goes down it isn't going to get any better so we are going to skip tonight's class.

Lego Building

Charlie LOVE'S Lego's!! For the longest time this meant I spent allot of time building this of that and a day or two later you couldn't recognize what it was I built. Well as of lately Moppy has been stepping back and letting him do more of the building ratter then give him the mini figures and sending to play while I or Daddy build the bigger thing. Today he returned a Christmas gift and shopped the clearance toys and found a great deal on the "Rise of the Sphinx". Well this afternoon and evening he built it with very little help from me or Daddy, since the directions are all in picture's sometimes it is hard to tell where the next piece goes and admittedly sometimes I was wrong and he would point it out. His building skills have greatly improved over the last few months! I am so very proud of what he accomplished.

Sometimes Moppy needs to stand back and let him do things himself. I know this but I also know sometimes I don't do that because it is easier and faster to do it myself. THis is one thing I hope to work on in 2012!!

After Charlie's five year check up we headed over to Pumpkin Land for some fun. Charlie loved

it, he loves this time of year. Halloween is Charlie's favorite holiday, some time I think he looks

forward to it more then he does Christmas!

Anytime we are going somewhere he will ask me if he can make new friends there. He made some new friend and hopefully we will get back there and they will be there. The one boy was there with his grandma and she told us they will be there every Tuesday so maybe we will get there again on and Tuesday.

Nice day for visiting the creek

The eighty degree days are number for this year, so Charlie and I used last Friday's beautiful weather to go enjoy the creek for what might be the last time this year. The water was already chilly but we had a great time! I wasn't really shocked to see that we were the only ones there. But sadly they have put up a sign saying our favorite part of the creek is closed to the public and is private property. So we went the way and explored father then we ever had.

This was a hard day for Charlie because he called to invite a friend to join us and his friend couldn't because he was in trouble. He asked me many times why his friends was in trouble and I explained that it was like when Charlie doesn't want to listen to us and he gets in trouble. That's why we need to be as good as we can because sometimes if we are not we miss out on the things we would like to do.

I can't believe my baby boy is five! All I can say is time flies when your chasing Charlie. On Monday we had Charlie's great Aunt and Uncle out for a little dinner and some birthday cake. This coming Saturday is his birthday party with his friends. It was so cute on Monday when he woke up he came out to the living room and a little while later i came in and he was sitting in his chair and looked pretty sad. I asked him what was wrong and he told me. Mommy you made a mistake you forgot to set everything up for my party. I explained to him that that was his birthday but we were having his party on the weekend so his friends could stay longer and later with having to get up for school.

Last Day of our Road Trip...

Well it's the last day of our Summer road trip. First stop is Dodge City, which turned out to pretty much closed. The visitor center isn't open on weekends, which I think is pretty darn stupid! And you couldn't get in to the Boot Hill till 1PM. The Boot Hill is a recreated western town. We seen several other visitor's to the town who were also disappointed. But Charlie did have fun climbing on a train engine that was parked there but we don't know why it was there since there was no information on it.

Last stop Capulin Volcano. It was real cloudy and while at the top of teh Volcano we could see it was raining in the distance. But the view was still amazing you could see for miles all around you! The hike up and around the rim was beautiful and not that difficult. I was kind glad it was cloudy so we weren't burning up on the walk up and around the rim. The walk down into the volcano was nice but after the walk around the rim it just couldn't compete with the views

Next stop is Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico!

The drive thought the park to get to the cavern was beautiful! There had been a fire in the park, which I just goggled and was in June of this year. It is amazing to see how quickly plants start to regrow after the fire. while there I thought the fire must of been last year judging by the regrowth, I was wrong. I was not thrilled when Chaz wanted to add this out of the way place to an already long road trip, but I am glad we went the cavern was huge and interesting. I wish we would of hiked in thought the natural entrance after seeing some picture of it. But we enjoyed a walk in the Big room and then lunch before pushing on to the Guadalupe Mountains National Park.

Where Moppy got to see her Bear Friend Nancy and Nancy was finally was able to meet CAB4!! Nancy and her husband Jim (who it was great to finally meet after years of seeing picture's!) took us to dinner at this great place called The Barn Door!! Thank you so much Jim and Nancy! Odessa was diffidently not what I expected! I always pictured it as this little bitty town, which it wasn't!

That night one of Chaz's friends that ended up in Odessa came by the

hotel to pick Chaz up so they could go have a few beers.

A Day in San Antonio

Dolphin Watch / Eco Tour (Even More South Padre)

So part of our Hotel package was a Eco tour, which we weren't too sure would be anything to talk about but it was awesome!! We had a great time and seen lots of dolphins. Part of the tour is they drag this net behind the boat then pull it up and see what they have caught and tell you about it and let you touch what you can. I think we all enjoyed this tour very much!!

Next Stop is San Antonio!! To spend a little more time with Jen, Jason, Carter, Piper and Jason Parents. After the boat ride in the morning and the car ride the Boys were pretty whipped so it was dinner , some play and bed time. We meet Jen, Jason, Carter, Piper and friends at the South Padre Island Birding Center and Nature Center, Which is a series of walkways over some swap land, that doesn't sound so great but it the perfect place to see all kinds of water birds!! At one point I was so close to a Great Blue Heron that i had to backup to take picture of it!! Needless to say I would sugguest that if you get a chance go and check it out!

Then Jen and Jason's friends were heading home and Jen, Jason and Piper were going to pack up and head to San Antonio while Carter stayed the night with us and then the next day we went on boat ride and then headed to San Antonio.

We went and played on the beach went to dinner at Pirate's Landing Restaurant which was a fun restaurant very much geared towards the kids, there dinner came in a pirate ship. Then ice cream at Davey Jones Ice Cream Locker, which was very good ice cream and the owner was a very nice man! Both I highly recommend if you are every in the area!

South Padre Island

So we Arrive in South Padre Island at 10 AM, where we hook up with Jen, Jason, Carter, Piper. and friends at the beach. The boys are having a great time with their boogie boards / Kites (it was pretty windy!!) The water feels great but we are told the the tropical storm has it all churned up. That the water is normally nice blue and much calmer. We spend a couple of hours at the beach with friends then head to check into our hotel with plans to meetup later. Well the kids are whipped from all the fun at the beach so Jen and I meet for a drink and girl talk at the hotel bar that evening.

We were up at sunrise and down at the beach, where we found lots of jellyfish along the shore line. Wondering if this had anything to do with the tropical storm? After a walk on the beach we head to see to see what was around town. First to do on our list was visit the USS Lexington, Texas State Aquarium and then North Padre Island.

The long drive day

So we wanted to get from Brandon Mississippi to Corpus Christi so we had a full day to do things in Corpus Christi. Plus Tropical Storm Lee was moving in and we wanted to get out of his path! We decided to take the scenic route and drove the Natchez Trace Parkway to it's end in Natchez, MS. ( we drove a chunk of this in TN and we really enjoyed it) Where we crossed the Mississippi River into Vadalia, LA. We did see some very heavy downpours but no flooding. While driving we seen a sign for the Battleship Texas and San Jacinto Monument, we had been in the car for a long time and we could use some time out so off the highway we go. Turns out it is a ferry ride over, which was a nice surprise. Charlie loved climbing on the guns and exploring the ship. We arrived late in the evening and only had 45 minutes to spend on the ship but we enjoyed it. Once back in the car Charlie told us Maybe he was wrong about this vacation after all. He had been telling us he didn't want to go on vacation.

A day in Mississippi

We started our first full day on vacation by visiting Vicksburg National Military Park. It was a hot day and we walked some of the park but I think it would take days to walk and read all the monuments in this park. This also started a round of Charlie's questions of what happened to the soldiers and why did they die. Which we try to explain to him but he just doesn't seem to grasp it.

Road Trip....

We have returned from our vacation to the South, well and the Midwest after Chaz could stand to be this close to this and that without going to see it. In 11 1/2 days we cover 8 states and drove a total of 4215 miles. We seen temperatures from 103 to 54

Day One Chaz worked half a day and Charlie went to school so we didn't hit the road till 12:30. We made it to Brandon, MS. PLan was to go for a uick swim have a bite to eat and for Chaz to hang out with Donnie.

Well we got ready to go swimming after checking with the front desk at check in that the pool was still open. When we get down there the gate is chained closed so we go back to the front desk where we are told if we want we can go over the wall and go swimming, so we head back to the pool. We go over the wall but i keep feeling this pain on my foot, when I get to some lights I notice ants on my foot no big deal right? Oh wait Mississippi has fire ants!! Let me just say OUCH!! Oh and a couple also bit Charlie but he never said a word, so it was benadryl for us. The next morning Charlie's spots were pretty much gone mine hung around for days!

Planning to do a post for each day we were gone but we'll see how that goes...

This afternoon we returned to Lake Lincoln beach Some friends joined us, it wasn't the hottest afternoon but it was a nice afternoon at the beach. It wasn't crowded and the boys played very well together!

Today we went to Laumeier Sculpture Park for the first time. This was a interesting park with a very nice nature trail and interesting sculptures.

Because allot of the kids had back to school open houses on Thursday coach rescheduled practice to this morning. Charlie still like's playing soccer and we think he is picking it up fairly well.

Preschool Open house

Tonight we attended Charlie's preschool open house,he didn't not want to go!Well he loved it and did not want to leave! His teacher's name is Mrs. Conway.

He asked her to take a picture with him, but he wanted it over with

quick so he could get back to his new Buddy

who we found out would not be in class with him. 8(

WHAT? After telling me thousands of times not to take his picture he actually wanted me to. This was a week or two ago but I forgot about it until today when I was looking thought some pictures. We were making some banana peanut butter muffins that were not hit.

Alligator Creek

Yesterday we met some friends at Alligator Creek. I don't think we went there at all last summer and it was our first visit this summer. I was surprised at the changes in Charlie from the last time we were there. He is of coarse bigger so he could walk all around the play area without me and he loved the lazy river which moves faster then their whirlpool. It took awhile but him and Blake finally warmed up to each other and didn't want to leave when it was time. And all I have heard since we left was how he misses Blake.

Blackberry Picking

I little over a week ago we went Blackberry picking and I forgot to post the picture's. Charlie and I picked 6.25 pounds of blackberries in under thirty minutes.

First Soccer Practice

Charlie enjoyed soccer practice so much more the tee ball!!

He seemed to really be trying to do what the coach

asked of him. He did get off track a couple of

times but I was very proud of him!
