Bike Ride

Daddy has been wanting to get riding his bike again and to take Charlie along for the ride so
tonight we went up to Walmart and picked up a seat for Charlie to ride in.

A hike in the woods...

Yesterday afternoon we decided to go to Cuivre River State Park for a hike. Daddy had found a trail that looked interesting online, Charlie said he would like to see the river, and Moppy loves this park! The weather was perfect for a nice hike! The Trail is Frenchman's Bluff and is supposed to be two miles long... As we started hiking the trail was a bit wetter then we had expected but not too bad and the scenery more then made up for it... the wild flowers are starting to bloom and there is a little creek running along the trail. We hike up to the bluff which has some amazing views of the river and Troy. We run into a few other hikers and see a lady on horse back. We realize that we have not seen any of our trail markers in a while but decide to push on and see where we end up. Well the Equestrian trail comes into the Frenchman's bluff trail and we take a fork of it ... lets just say BAD plan! At first it was still a nice hike but then we get to the mud and we are talking muddy Missouri clay that is like six inches deep! Daddy is having to carry Charlie. This seems like forever and then we reach a fork and take our best guess as which way we should go which thankful is out of the mud! Then we come to another fork which is the last thing we wanted to see at the point and guess again which leads us back to the Same section of Trail we had Hiked earlier. I will not lie at six PM with sun going down and the clouds moving in a was starting to wonder if we would get out of the woods by dark but about two and half hours after we started our hike we were back at the Playground playing for a bit before heading to dinner a bit muddy but have had a wonderful hike in the woods.

Great Great Uncle Connie's Fire

Charlie's Great Great Uncle was burning some boxes in the burn barrel and the fire got away from him... So for a couple of days before we head to Gladwin we wonder what we will find when we do get there. It is amazing that Uncle didn't get hurt, the gas tanks did not blow up, he didn't lose his home and just how fire can destroy one thing and leave something sitting right next to it untouched.

Zoobilee

This was a fun place to go burn some energy while in Michigan and it was very close to where we stayed. Charlie enjoyed 4 visits to Zoobilee while we were in Michigan. Two of those visit were Charlie and just Grampy going to play. Thanks to my friend J who told me about Zoobilee!! Charlie called it the Jungle, and he has asked everyday to go to the Jungle!

Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day

Charlie and I spent most St. Patrick's Day on the road to Michigan. But we we arrived it was nice out so Aunt Dee and Lyssa met us at the park.

Call the Fashion Police

Daddy asked Charlie if he wanted to go out to play, Charlie wanted to Play soccer but insisted on taking the basket ball He also insisted on wearing his cow boots, which alone are very cute but with his dinosaur PJ's it just not a good look! Daddy tried for 10 minutes to convince Charlie that he should change, wear his tennis shoes and get the soccer ball. But in the end Charlie went out in his boots, PJ's and basketball. Hey I say pick your battles and that was one that didn't need to be picked!!

Monkey Joe's

At one time a beloved place... then they changed the rules 12 and under only!! Which meant that I could not go with Charlie and he hated the Toddler area's. Plus Katie could not go so we stopped going. Well Yesterday we returned for Charlie's friend Isaiah's Second Birthday Party... I wondered all week how our visit would go. Charlie had a pretty good time except for a few older kids who needed more supervision. Charlie was climbing and sliding all by himself. He did ask Daddy and Moppy to come play with him a few times but had no problem going off to play alone. We will go back on a week day when it is less crowded.

Boys will be Boys

I'm not really sure how it happened but Charlie was injured at Chuck E. Cheese he cut the corner of his eye. I think the seat belt recoiled and caught him but i can't say for sure. But it didn't seem to slow him down and he wasn't thrilled when I made him let me do an eye rinse on it!

More Park Fun...

Yesterday we went to Klondike Park we have been there a couple of time but had only hiked up to the lookout until yesterday when we walked around the fishing pond/lake. I had thought they had a nice playground but it was not all that great after all so we stopped at the school playground on the way home. Today Charlie and I went back to Indian Camp Creek Park but we did not stay long since Charlie jumped into the stream then fell and was soaking wet, I striped his clothes and put my jacket on him so he didn't get a chill, I carried him to the car blasted the heat and home we came.

Charlie's Castle

This evening Charlie and I headed to the park to enjoy to enjoy some of the wonderful weather we are having. I decided for a change we would go to Indian Camp Creek Park... it a fairly new park... they are actually still working on parts of the park. They have opened a new section of the park since our last visit. It is a scenic one way road up a hill to different hiking trails, a group camping area, and picnic areas along with an area called the Homestead. This is where Charlie found his "Castle", which is really an old silo that have been converted to a lookout. Charlie was in love I had to drag him away to go to the playground and play and we went back to the "Castle" at sunset before heading home. I used the timer on my camera to get a picture of Charlie and myself. I have a feeling this will become one of our regularly visited parks.

Super Cute!

Charlie just being an ham and silly this morning!

sneaking a cherry off the cake...

This past Saturday Great Aunt Nila had a surprise belated Birthday party for Grandma Nancy. Charlie wasn't so sure at first when we walked it to see Grandma and all her friends sitting around the table laughing and talking but warmed up once he spotted the cake and snacks.

Weeehooooo

We all know how kids love to play with boxes!! So today when I opened a new box of diapers I gave Charlie the box to play with. I walked out of the living room and went to put the diapers in the cupboard. When I came back to find Charlie playing with his box I was a bit surprised at how he had decided to use it, but it doesn't shock me either.

Peanut butter... yummy

Charlie said he wanted a snack and headed to the pantry which usually ends with Charlie coming back with a bag of fruit snacks and a bowl for me to put them in. Well he was taking a little too long to come back and I went to see what the problem was and this is what I found....
